about

After considering the future of the New White Trash relative to the passing of our friend and bandmate MICHAEL C. RUPPERT, we are moving forward with plans to record and release a third and final NWT album titled BEYOND THE RUBICON. This album will include unreleased material featuring Mike Ruppert from the DOUBLEWIDE and AGE OF AUTHORITY sessions, as well as new songs written while Mike was housing with bandmate DOUG LEWIS at Red Cloud Ranch in southern Colorado.

Beyond The Rubicon will be dedicated to the life, work and memory of Mike Ruppert.

Our focus, as always, will be on releasing material relative to the original NWT manifesto – matters of head and heart, war and peace, love, longing, loss and joy.

Beyond The Rubicon will complete the NWT trilogy begun in 2009 at the Venice Arts Club in Venice, California. Along with Lewis, original NWT band members KRISTEN VIGARD and ANDY KRAVITZ will be deep in the mix.

We have launched a fund raising campaign on STARTJOIN (www.StartJoin.com/btr) with the intention of raising enough funds to appropriately record, mix and master Beyond The Rubicon.

We cannot complete this project without you – friends and fans of Mike Ruppert and the NWT. In addition to the StartJoin campaign, we have released the first track of Beyond The Rubicon titled WHO I ONCE WAS, featuring MCR. While this song is available as a free download, we encourage listeners to give a little or a lot both here on Bandcamp and also through the StartJoin campaign (www.StartJoin.com/btr).

Another opportunity for friends, fans and listeners to move this project forward is to purchase an electronic download or Sponsor Edition of Doublewide and/or Age Of Authority. Leave a short message indicating that your payment should go towards BTR. Anyone doing so will in return receive a gratis copy – via electronic download – of Beyond The Rubicon before its official release.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for tuning in.

RIP MCR

THE NEW WHITE TRASH IN THE POST-PARADIGM ERA
Mining a new groove, and with a kind of rough grace, DOUBLEWIDE, the 37 song, 2 CD set from the NEW WHITE TRASH, chronicles the slide of the former American middle-class down a steep and slippery slope to the New White Trash, a place impartial to race, religion, creed or color. ... more

Track Name: Who I Once Was
Yellow moon in flight
Night burning bright
Fireflies and a native dance
Around the fire and holding hands

Calling sacred this body of earth
Calling sacred every soul’s worth
Calling sacred every star that shone
Calling sacred every animal roam

I hear the wild-horse distance run
Smell the fire held my hand to the sun
Hear the children light and laughing
Ate the corn ripe and sweet

Thought I heard a whisper put my ear to the ground
Thought I heard a raven though it made no sound
Calling down the breeze of morning
Crow feathers flutter

All the people including you
Share a secret smile
Light or living high or named
After river, forest and rain

Into the mountains and into the sun
After winter and what may come
Corn from a seed, life in a grain
Blood from the water, flesh from her veins

I hear the wild-horse distance run
Smell the fire held my hand to the sun
Hear the children light and laughing
Ate the corn ripe and sweet

Thought I heard a whisper put my ear to the ground
Thought I heard a raven though it made no sound
Calling down the breeze of morning
Crow feathers flutter

Bring down the sun sacred father king
Bring down the moon sacred mother queen
Into these bones and through these eyes
Of every man, every woman alive
